British Pop star Madonna is in the African country Malawi on a mission to try to help orphaned children living with HIV and Aids.

Madonna who arrived in Malawi on the 4th October is due to travel to a village called Mphandula, where she wants to set up an orphanage care centre to provide food, education and shelters for up to 4 000 underpriviled children. She planned to raise at least $3m (£1.6m) for six projects supporting Aids orphans in Malawi.

While still on Madonna, it was reported that the Pop star has adopted a one year-old boy in Malawi whose mother died a month after childbirth. Yohame Banda, the father of adopted child David said that his wife Marita died from childbirth complications and his son has been cared for at the home of Hope Orphanage Care Centre in Mchingi, a village near the Zambian Border.

He reported very happy as his son was escaping povery and that he will be well looked after in America

Madonna was due to file for adoption papers on arriving in the country last week. The 48-year old already Madonna and her Film Director husband Guy Ritchie has already two children, five-year-old son Rocco and nine-year-old daughter Lourdes.

If the singer has gone ahead with the adoption she follows in the footsteps of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie. Jolie who gave birth to Brad Pitt’s child Shiloh Nouvel in a Namibian coastal town Swakopmund, has also adopted from Cambodia and Ethiopia

Oh Yes, I would say kudos to her and her hubby. I know that Maddona will make it so to prove her doubters wrong.
